My husband and I dined on the patio last Thursday and I wanted to share our experience with you! Last Thursday was our first time dining since the pandemic. We chose to spend it at Big Rock because that is where we met for our first blind date. A few years later we also had our rehearsal dinner at Big Rock and then our wedding reception at The Reserve, so Big Rock is a special place to us.
Last Thursday we were blown away with all of the safety precautions that you are taking to keep the dining environment safe. We had a table on the patio that was immaculately clean. We were spaced out from other customers and felt very comfortable the entire time we dined. Our server Jamie went above and beyond to make it a great experience for us. We ordered our favorites, the chop salad, calamari and steak bites. They were INCREDIBLE! The salad was so fresh and delicious. The calamari was perfect and the steak bites were the best we’ve ever had there! Not only was the food delicious but I requested that Ally (our favorite bartender) make me a summer martini and it was AMAZING. We always enjoy seeing Ally and usually our favorite spot to sit is at the bar.
Please pass along our sincere gratitude for a lovely evening to the staff. It was such a nice night for us that we almost forgot all about the pandemic. Thank you for all you’ve done to keep our favorite restaurant our go to spot!

I am a loyal Big Rock patron and chair of the Detroit Heart Association board. We were planning an event for several local female movers and shakers who have a passion for heart health and Big Rock was my first choice. My husband and I had our wedding reception there in 2006. The amazing service (and honestly the Cajun steak bites) bring us back every year for our anniversary.
I was introduced to Anna as our event manager. I cannot say enough good things about her, but let me walk you through my raving praise to give you an idea.
She was warm and welcoming. She had ideas, based on her experience, that helped us maximize your space. Her menu planning was very clear, and she was sooooo generous with our budget (and a few complimentary gift cards). I believe I have YOU to thank for the wine donation. It really means a lot to our organization when we can keep as much of our funding for education and research. Anna was very prompt as we were going through the paperwork and details. She met us last night to make sure we were all set. And were we ever! The food, wine, table set-up, servers…everything was spot on. The servers we had were the best. So attentive yet unobtrusive.
It was such a wow night, and we are so grateful to Anna and Big Rock for being great partners to us. We can’t wait to have more events with you.

I’m writing to thank you for all the ways you assisted me in pulling together my dad’s memorial luncheon at The Reserve on February 23rd. From my first call to inquire about the space to your last follow up call, I couldn’t be more grateful for your personal service and professional manner. I have planned many private events (weddings and parties) and even some public events (film premieres and receptions) and I can honestly say that my dealings with you and the staff while planning this memorial luncheon for my dad were the most pleasant and worry free yet and could not be improved upon! You made wonderful suggestions and clarifications, never balked at a question or request I made and it genuinely felt like you were as interested in making the most of this gathering as myself. I also enjoyed pre-tasting wines, sharing a laugh and learning more about Big Rock Chophouse through you. My family also thought the setting, the tables, the food and staff service were all excellent and elegant.
Please feel free to pass along my name and phone number to anyone who might be looking for a recommendation to plan an event with you. I can easily and honestly share my glowing impressions of both The Reserve and the Big Rock spaces, and for you, Cailtlin, Kevin and the rest of the staff.
I’ll be looking for an opportunity to hopefully work with you all again in the future for some other event or celebration. Thanks again!

I just wanted to thank you for your help with the rehearsal dinner for my son Steve and his wife Kirsten last Friday evening.
The food was excellent and the room worked perfectly. We received many compliments on the venue choice and are so happy we decided on Big Rock for this function. Without your help and advice this would not have been possible so I want to thank you again for all your long distance help and patience which made this successful event possible!

I am sorry that this has taken so long to write. A few weeks ago I brought my family up to Big Rock have Dinner in Dorothy’s section. My Mom and her best friend were in town from Up North so I wanted to bring them somewhere special to celebrate a belated Mother’s Day and our good friend Kathy’s 80th Birthday.
From start to finish your staff did an absolutely amazing job. The hostesses and Molly were great.
Dorothy was wonderful and made us all feel so very special especially my mom, Kathy, brother and sister-in-law. The Food and drink was awesome as usual.
We all went to the bar after dinner to have drinks with Allie and her staff afterwards, and as usual she did not disappoint. She is amazing at making people feel so comfortable and “loved”. Dottie and Allie even went out of their way on their own time to put beautiful flowers on our dinner table, which they then gave to my mom after dinner. Even YOU went out of your way to turn the lights down for me that were a little too bright were I was sitting………. it is all of these types of things that “add up” that complete the whole “experience” at Big Rock.
My Family was hugely impressed and had a wonderful time. They said that they felt like “rock stars”…… and that is all due to your staff (including the Valet guys)!
We all lead such busy lives, so it is very important to me to let you know that we are so grateful that we have a place to come where we are made to feel very special and can relax and unwind …….. and that is thanks to you and your staff.
We will always feel proud to bring any of our friends and family to Big Rock Chophouse.
